Dimebag Darrell Solo, Circa 1984

Dimebag Darrell Solo, Circa 1984

Here is a classic performance from the now-deceased guitarist of the bands Pantera and Damageplan, Dimebag Darrell. This epic shredding session dates from 1984, when Darrell was only 18 years old. In it, we can see Darrell laying the foundation for the epic riffs he’ll produce later in life. He’s already a force to be reckoned with behind the guitar, and he seems as confident and assured on stage as a musician with many more years of experience. Darrell was largely self-taught and mastered most of his skills without the help of guitar lessons. This video dates from Pantera’s early days, before the band had achieved national success with the 1990 album Cowboys from Hell. This video comes to us courtesy of Gianluca G.
