The chance to reel in a record-breaking fish while fishing or fly fishing is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Here, Epic Wildlife takes a tour of the 11 biggest fish ever caught, starting with the near-mythical oarfish that may have been the inspiration behind the Loch Ness monster. The largest fish on record, however, is a catch from Hawaii: a blue marlin weighing a hefty 1,368 pounds. Any fish this size takes a lot of time, sweat and Herculean effort to bring to shore, and getting it back to the freezer can be quite the logistical challenge, requiring a flatbed truck or even a crane depending on the weight of the catch.
